Great food. Friendly folks.
Our first visit and the Hot Brown was so delicious. We loved how this historic home had been transformed into a restaurant and boutique. We're surely coming back.
This place was recommended when I was visiting Elizabethtown. I ordered the chicken salad croissant with fries and the food was great. Erin was my server, she was friendly and helpful.
Good option for a nice sit down lunch. Good food and even better sweets.
Always such a nice culinary experience. Staff is wonderful & the food is Great. If I lived closer, I would be there quite often.
Sick of cookie cutter franchises that heat pre-processed food from a bag? Real country cooking here just like grandma makes. Cheap prices also
This place popped as a recommendation, glad I followed through. Food was exceptional. Staff was highly attentive and overall it was a fun place. Parking can be a little tricky.
First time here! It was great! Very friendly and outgoing Host🤵. The server ðŸ’was sweet and fast. The food we ordered 🥗 🥘was great! Looked fantastic! Can not wait to bring the the family or more friends!
Loved the reserved party room as well as the close proximity to the sports park and hotels! Ate here with the baseball team and loved the food and employees were very friendly and outgoing!
What a cool place to eat. My wife and I love historical homes. And this one is a great restaurant and excellent food.
If I could rate it any higher I would. Probably the most comforting experience at any restaurant I've ever been to. Food was extravagant and well worth the price range for it. I do highly recommend them and if by any chance you need catering, I recommend them for that as well!
Amazing food, great service, adorable atmosphere. Try the hot brown!
Great restaurant set inside of an old home. Food is "down home" and delicious, with a staff that's always extremely friendly. They also have a small.boutique inside with items ranging down candies to soaps.
Great place to good. Food was great good home cookingâ£â™¥ï¸ The honey chicken had geat crust with moist white chicken, the white mac and cheese was so creamy and rich. Delicious more food than you'll probably be able to eatâ£â™¥ï¸ Fried green tomatoes and dip was the best. All the food was served piping hot and very little wait time. The country fried steak was delicious. White cream gravey was do good, steak tender and great taste. My two sider were sweet potato casserole and broccoli casserole. Just as good if not better then home made. The desserts are down right sinfulâ£Cole miner chocolate cake best cake l have eaten in a long time. Fudge and pecans icing on the cake just to good for words. Melts in your mouth. The peach cobbler had great peaches and crust couldn't ask for better♥ï¸Forgot cornbread you will love it.
Cozy, charming place. Service was great. Corn pudding, sweet potato casserole & pinto beans & cornbread were quite tasty. Salmon patties could use some work. Peach & blackberry cobbler were amazing. Parking is limited & a little tricky. Would definitely go back again. Not wheelchair accessible. Somewhat limited menu.
Located in an older home, this restaurant was a pleasant surprise. The quality of the food and the service were superb. We will visit again, the next time we are in the area.
We've been wanting to stop and eat for quite a while. But in our trips back and forth from Florida to Michigan and back it was a little out of the way. Well we made sure we had the travel time today to take the detour. This place is great. The best fried green tomatoes I've ever had from a restaurant. The sweet potato casserole was also amazing. This was a house transformed into a restaurant so it has a very cozy feel to it. Absolutely beautiful and so much to look at. My family and I highly recommend eating here.
Great home cooking.Very friendly service.A pleasant experience.
This wouldn't be a five if it weren't in E-Town. But it is really quite good (if very heavy) and there aren't a lot of other decent offerings in town.
I love this place! Old house, beautifully restored and decorated. Excellent food. Meatloaf, country fried steak, chicken fried chicken, real mashed potatoes, hash brown casserole. Good prices as well, so my husband is happy!
We heard about Back Home Restaurant on a website called "Only in Your State". So on our way to Indy we swung by for lunch. Goodness gracious, we were glad we did. Great food, super people and the restaurant itself is fun and quirky. Try it out.
Unique restaurant with excellent service and home made food. I had the country fried steak, mashed Potatoes and Broccoli casserole. My wife had the honey chicken Mac and cheese. Everything was excellent but the Broccoli casserole won the show.
The food was just ordinary on this visit, the temperature of the food was also a issue. The last 2 times it's been about the same. Always this restaurant was one of my favorite places to eat at while visiting Elizabethtown.
So yummy!!! I had the chicken and dumplings, Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes. Everything was so good and very hot, like they just cooked it. They had two very big parties going on but we still had amazing services. Our drinks were never empty and the waitress couldn't have been nicer. Absolutely amazing food and service!!
It was quirky, housed in an older home and the dining was set up in various rooms. It also doubled as a boutique selling candy, candles & clothing. My favorite food item was the onion souffle served with hearty tortilla chips. It was amazing. Our waitress recommended it and I was not disappointed. Our entrees were not quite as yummy. The meatloaf was fine, but the green beans lacked seasonings, my macaroni was barely warm and was definitely not an item I would order again. I was surprised by the Jiffy Mix cornbread too. I guess I was expecting something from scratch. Service was good, everyone was very friendly. The parking lot was small & cramped. I'm glad I gave it a try, but I don't know if I would eat there again. Prices were fair, but I wanted something slightly better for my money.
Amazing food. Beautiful decor. And a cute little boutique as well.
Food was delicious and the service was great. Went to the boutique and they had quality clothing items and cute keepsake items.
Great little place. Super friendly staff and tasty food.
Good food just wasnt for me.
Excellent service and fabulous food! The pinto beans and cornbread are an appetizer, but I had as my entree. It was perfect and just the right amount for lunch! You gotta try the fried green tomatoes.
This was my first visit but not my last! The chicken salad over field greens was absolutely delicious! The peach cobbler was to die for! The staff were very friendly. My meal arrived within a timely manner and I was checked on a couple of times by my server. If you've mever been here, I highly recommend going!!
Great setting and wonderful service. And the food is delicious too!
Really great service and a very cute fun place to eat. Eating locally is the way to go even when traveling. We had the chicken fried chicken. It was nice, crispy, and juicy. Their sides were also very good.
Fantastic experience. Food was great and it's a lovely place
Popular for Fried Tomato burger. I've enjoyed the Hot Brown a couple times. Been 3 times, staff super friendly. Really like the building. They have a store upstairs too.
Great staff, Trevone at the front counter was super nice! Great food, very cozy welcoming inside. If you're passing through E-town I highly recommend this spot!😎ðŸ‘
Good food, nice atmosphere. I really liked the idea of turning a house into a restaurant. So it is kind of back home. I liked the quotes on the walls. Food tasted good and served elegantly. However there is no sign of any green or even vegetables if you don't order them explicitly. I ordered roasted beef with sweet potatoes casserole. Sweet potatoes casserole was too sweet for me with extra extra sugar on top. Roasted beef served over white bread and mashed potatoes and it was too much carbs for a dinner.
Tasty food and quirky-farmhouse atmosphere, made this a great place to try. I enjoyed my first taste of fried green tomatoes! Country ham was kicked up a notch by adding preserves and brie cheese!
Take a ride. E-town isn't that far from Louisville. It's not fancy, it's not a place for a drink. It is a place for a good meal served with capable employees. We had a table of four. All four were happy when we left. If it were closer, I would put it in my eat out rotation.
We were in town and stopped by for lunch. We were impressed with how fast our appetizer arrived and lunch an appropriate time later. The onion souffle is fantastic, as is the country ham hot brown. Back Home is worth the drive.
Quaint decor. GOOD food and service. Fried Green Tomato's were hot and crispy and timely. Salads fresh. I had hot brown. I can honestly say one of the best I've had. Very good service.
